DANCON March (6th November 2011)

On Nov 6 2011 at 07:00 fifteen personnel from 2 Rifles BAG joined a number of Danish and American soldiers on a 16.62 loaded march in aid of ‘Support our Soldiers’. The event raised $3, 500.

At the beginning of the march Cpl Martin put his trust into his Chain of Command to look after his day sack so he could nip to the toilet before they set off. Unwise decision.

Two miles in to the event, WO2 Greaves caught up with Cpl Marin to inform him of the extra weight he was carrying . He then proceeded to help Cpl Martin dispose of the additional 3 large water bottles and half of Bastion’s stones before the two set off again.

The first to finish from the team was Capt Taylor in with a very respectable time of 2hrs 50 minutes, placing him 5th across the finish line. The rest of the team finished within 3-4 hours.
